Fortune’s Pawn is my blog, so named because that is how I sometimes feel.  Claudia Shear wrote a book titled Blown Sideways Through Life about her experience working many ill fitting jobs.  The sense of not necessarily controlling one’s path in life conveyed by that title is much the same as that expressed by the term “Fortune’s Pawn.”
